Happy New Year to all of our Dementia Care Foundation and Lakeview Ranch generous supporters.

With the start of 2014 I would like to let you know of changes at the Dementia Care Foundation and Lakeview Ranch.  As many of you already know, I have been working on a succession plan that will ensure the Lakeview Ranch Model of Care continues on and becomes available to more seniors in need of the level of care that has become the norm at the Ranch.

Last September we hired Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association (MVNA), a highly respected non-profit, specializing in quality home care and hospice to manage Lakeview Ranch.  MVNA  has been in the healthcare business for more than 100 years with a stellar reputation for meeting the needs of low-income persons.  My contract with MVNA began October 1, 2013.  Since then, MVNA is in charge of every day operations at Lakeview Ranch.

Through this process it was decided to close the Dementia Care Foundation and transfer its assets to the newly formed MVNA Dementia Care Fund for Lakeview Ranch. As a nonprofit MVNA will continue to provide LRI the support to ensure access to low-income seniors. It will eliminate the costs of operating the Dementia Care Foundation. As of today, the Dementia Care Foundation is beginning is dissolution process. Your future support should be directed to MVNA’s Dementia Fund. This is a special fund set up by MVNA to support the same mission that previously was held by the Dementia Care Foundation. The Tax ID number for MVNA’s non-profit is 41-0693895and all donations are still fully tax deductible.

We have a link on the Lakeview Ranch website directed to the MVNA Dementia Fund for your convenience. Lakeview Ranch and the Lakeview Ranch model of care that has been developed to appropriately meet  your loved ones emotional & spiritual needs,  in addition to their physical needs, still needs your ongoing support to provide the specialized level of care that ensures dignity and quality of life every resident deserves.

You can visit MVNA’s website and click on Dementia Fund to continue your generous support of Specialized Care for those with dementia. Be sure to write your donation check  to MVNA Dementia Fund including any automatic donations that come to us monthly through your bank or through employer matching donations. If you prefer, you can continue to mail your donations to the Ranch.

I thank you for your patience and continued support as we move through this transition. Feel free to email me at with any questions or concerns.

With Sincere Gratitude for your ongoing support,

Judy Berry
